Description October sees the continuation of our brand new knitted sampler throw series with Daphne Morris. This month she shows us how to cast-off in Rib, an essential skill for creating the throw, and she also shows us how to complete the diamond block section of the sampler. This workshop is supported with a pattern which is available now. With remembrance Sunday only a month away we have a lovely crochet workshop on how to create these beautiful poppies from our new crochet expert Gaynor White. They are quick to make for yourself, your friends and maybe fundraise for the British Legion as well and wear with pride in November. Jennie Rayment has a lovely new workshop called contrarywise cathedral windows where she manipulates the traditional square shape into an octagon. Valerie Nesbitt shows us various colour options for a delightful quilt called Peyton as well as a great workshop using just Fat 1/8th of wonderful Oakshott fabrics to create a very modern style quilt. Carolyn Forster uses vintage quilts as her inspiration for a superb sunflower block where she is using acrylic templates to make life a lot easier for the modern quilter, whether sewing by hand or by machine. Paula Doyle and Angela Daymond are going a bit Crazy this month with part 1 of their look at Crazy patchwork. And finally, our Technique Thursday spot features two video tips from Block printing expert Tess Grace of The Indian Block Print Co on paint saving and using up your practice scraps of fabric to create beautiful cards.
