One Piece Grand Ship Collection Queen-Mama-Chanter One Piece is a manga written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997. The publisher periodically collects its chapters in tankobon-sized volumes, the first of which was published on December 24. The Italian edition is edited by Star Comics, which began publication in albums corresponding to the Japanese volumes on July 1, 2001. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Rufy, a boy whose body has taken on the properties of rubber after inadvertently ingesting a devil fruit. Recruiting comrades to form a crew, Rufy explores the Major Route in search of the legendary One Piece treasure and pursuing his dream of becoming the new Pirate King. One Piece is adapted into an anime television series, produced by Toei Animation and broadcast in Japan on Fuji TV since October 20, 1999. The Italian edition has aired on Italia 1 since November 5, 2001 and continued on Italia 2 in 2012; initially titled All'arrembaggio!, the series has had several name changes over the seasons until settling on the original One Piece. Toei Animation has also produced 13 TV specials, 15 anime films, two 3D shorts, an ONA and an OAV. Various companies have made merchandise from it, such as soundtracks, video games, and toys. One Piece has enjoyed extraordinary success. Several volumes of the manga have achieved record sales and initial print runs in Japan; on June 15, 2015, it also entered the Guinness Book of Records as the comic book series drawn by a single author with the most copies published, which on that date totaled more than 320 million. It is then the best-selling manga in the world, with more than 500 million copies in circulation as of 2022.
